How To Help
HCRC relies on the dedication of volunteers to keep our programs thriving.
Here are some current opportunities:
Organize a Food Drive or Fundraiser
Volunteers regularly organize food/personal care supply drives or fundrasiers through scout troops, clubs, workplaces and schools. Some people ask for donations to benefit HCRC in honor of a birthday or host a party/event where guests contribute. Contact Rachel Kring at (802) 482-4946 or at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more or to tell us your idea to help.
Twice is Nice
Volunteers run our benefit thrift shop in daily shifts (commitment can be once a week, once a month or anything in between); volunteers can also help with smaller tasks like sorting, tagging or repairs. Please contact Mary Crane at the shop at (802) 482-3500 or email@example.com
Hinesburg Food Shelf
Volunteers help stock shelves and offer assistance to families visiting the Food Shelf. Volunteers should be 15 years or older. Please contact: Jeff Glover at (802) 872-8685 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Drivers are needed to transport individuals to appointments, grocery store, etc. Please contact Special Services Transportation Agency (SSTA) to volunteer: (802) 878-1527. SSTA performs background checks and dispatches all Hinesburg Rides volunteers.
Friends of Families
Volunteers are needed to help with clothing and book swaps in April and October and with the Welcome Baby Brunch in May. Please contact Alex Koncewicz at (802) 482-4667 or email@example.com
Volunteer Opportunities for Kids and Families
We often hear from families who would like to teach their young children about giving back to the community by volunteering, and we are so thankful to hear from so many people who want to instill a sense of taking care of each other in the next generation! Please check out this list of ideas.
